Manipal Institute of Communication Entrance Exam

Manipal Institute of Communication conducts the annual exam to select candidates for their undergraduate and postgraduate Mass communication program. It has emerged as one of the premier institutes for mass communication, media and journalism with international reputation. You can opt for a two-year post-graduate course (MS Communication or a three-year graduate programme (Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communication) along with the option for a one-year post-graduate diploma in Corporate Communication (PGDCC).

Manipal Institute of Communication Application Process

The candidates are required to fill up online application forms for both the postgraduate and undergraduate courses. Though the paper pattern and other details may vary., the application process for all the course are same. When filling up the form, you will also be asked about your exam date preferences and should fill in the needful. Register online for Manipal University Masscomm Admission

Note- There will be a separate application form for candidates falling under the Foreign/NRI category. A separate merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained at the qualifying examination and those selected for admission will be informed separately.

MU- OET Undergraduate Eligibility Criteria


The Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU- OET) for undergraduate program requires the candidate to have passed at least 10+2 from any reputed or equivalent examination in any stream. It is compulsory to have English as the medium of instruction to participate for the course. NRI candidates can apply.

Test  Pattern: Duration - 2 hours
There will be one question paper of  multiple choice questions (MCQ), of the objective type which carries  100  marks  which is divided into

Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) Post Graduate

Eligibility Criteria

For the post graduate program in Mass Communication, students can be graduate from any discipline with at least 50% marks in on aggregate. Those appearing for their final year can also apply for the same.

Test Pattern

Duration - 2 hours

There is one question paper of 120  multiple choice  questions (MCQ) along with  reading comprehension, verbal  ability (spotting  errors,  sentence improvement, vocabulary, etc.), quantitative & numerical ability (arithmetic,  algebra,  geometry,  data  interpretation etc.) and reasoning & general intelligence (analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, general intelligence etc.). Questions on latest trends and developments in the media, social and economic areas are also applicable. 


GD/PI

After the examination is cleared, it is mandatory for the students to clear the GD & Interview too. Only post this will admission be granted.
