Veterinary Education in Karnataka

Candidates are selected on the basis of their marks in All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) conducted every year by Veterinary Council of India in the month of May.

Veterinary education is always a sought after career among students in Karnataka. To pursue veterinary education in Karnataka, candidates must have passed 10+2 examination with Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics and English as main subjects. They can only apply if they have the certificate of permanent residence of Karnataka.

The minimum age of candidates should be 17 years and the maximum age of candidates should be 25 years. For candidates under SC, ST and OBC categories, a relaxation of age by a maximum 5 years will be there.

While most veterinarians have medical offices, many who work on animals other than domestic pets, such as farm animals, travel to treat their patients on site.
